Philippine Standard Time:

After missing the Palarong Bicol 2017 at Legazpi City, the Arnis team of Catanduanes is back on track again in this year’s palaro, and immediately made an impact courtesy of Florentino Jose and Jerica Cea who added silver and bronze medals after their match in Category E (half lightweight) and Category C (featherweight) respectively at SM Naga in Naga City.

Jose and Cea, both grade 10 students of San Andres Vocational School, showed their flash against their opponents.

Yung experience makakatulong yun for future arnis competition,” said Jose.

Arnis coaches and trainers also saw the importance of our players match up against veteran opponents.

May two years pa sila na chance for Palarong Bicol kaya makaka-adjust na sila,” said Allan Gianan, a veteran coach for Arnis.

Gianan also hoped to have more players who will get interest to train and love the sports arnis; who will eventually represent our province in future palaro.

Dati kitang naka advance sa palarong pambansa in arnis.

Coach Joseph Randy Brusola also shared that exposure to arnis competition in the province would be a great help to expose our national sport.
