ONE MORE FOR CATANDUANES. The Governor’s Office will be hanging another SGLG award next to the 2015 and 2016 plaque and the 2011 Seal of Good Housekeeping(extreme right) after being conferred as 2017 Seal of Good Local Governance awardee.
Catanduanes is SGLG Hall of Famer
The Provincial Government of Catanduanes achieved its third consecutive Seal of Good Local Governance for three consecutive years.
“ Dakula ang satuyang pasasalamat sa mga Department Heads nin Provincial Government, ta sinda talaga ang nasa likod nin award naini. Gapasalamat man kita sa gabos na nagtrabaho, asin nag tiwala na makukuaniato ang SGLG award.”, said Governor Joseph Cua.
He further said that the award belongs to the people of Catanduanes who truly deserves this award.
On a letter dated October 30, 2017, Catalino S. Uy, Officer-in-charge of the Department of Interior Local and Government, congratulated Governor Joseph Cua and the Provincial Government of Catanduanes, citing the feat as a milestone for local governance.
The province met the upgraded criteria for 2017 covering the four core areas namely: Financial Administration, Disaster Preparedness, Social Protection, and Peace and Order.
Furthermore, the letter indicated that the Provincial Government passed the parameters for two of the following essential areas: Business Friendliness and Competitiveness, Environmental Management, and Tourism, Culture and Arts.
With this award, the Provincial Government is entitled to access Performance Challenge Funds, facilitate bank loan approval and other programs.
