In partnership with the Provincial Health Office (PHO), the Department of Health-Center for Health (DOH-CHD) Bicol catered to more than 800 family members on the Salud Bikolnon (SB) Family Plus services on June 18-19, 2019 at the Capitol Convention Center.
Kenn Nuyda , DOH-CHD Bicol Health Education & Promotion Officer II, stated that this activity reintroduces their services as well as promulgate awareness in the promotion and prevention of health care to localities.
“Naplano etong activity na ito na Salud Bikolnon dahil gusto natin ang health services would also focus dun sa RHU. Malaman ng lokal na pamahalaan yung mga clients natin doon kung ano talaga ang nararapat na serbisyo sa kanila.”
“Kapag ang pasyente o kliyente pumunta sa mga rural units, maging sa mga hospital sa distrito, eto yung mga services na dapat ma-avail nila at maiprovide sa kanila ng tama and efficiently maiprovide yung service for them,” he added.
Participants from municipalities of Virac, San Andres, Bato and San Miguel benefitted on full-health package booths namely (1) Assessment & Nutritional Counseling, (2) Immunization Services, (3) Reproductive Health Services – Pre & Post Natal and Family Planning & Adolescent Job Aid, (4) Oral Health, (5) Community-Based Screening, (6) Non-Communicable Disease Prevention & Control, (7) Bicol Regional Training & Teaching Hospital, (8) Basic Life Support, (9) Environmental Booth, and (10) PhilHealth Booth.
Family members and other localities from Virac, San Andres, Bato and San Miguel come together to benefit from the free health-package services of the DOH-CHD Bicol on June 18-19, 2019 on the Capital Convention Center.
The “family plus” in the SB program is intended for all members of the family as well as other local groups of the community. Nuyda explained that this celebration is paralleled to the celebration of family affairs and trending health issues of the month.
“Pinasok natin siya (ang dengue health care/family plus) as an integrative approach na makita natin talaga that the family works harmoniously with one another, with each of the member para nang sa ganon, maayos yung health status nila,” he stated.
Within the past decade, Salud Bikolnon shifted its gears from a simple health awarding body ceremony to a more health inclined advocacy. DOH emphasizes that in relation with the Universal Health Law, they are promulgating not only to the curative side but also to the more promotive and preventive aspect of health care.
The DOH-CHD Bicol first launched the SB program for children on March in SM Legazpi City and will commence its next event on August in Sorsogon for the Special Population and Naga by October this year.
