Governor Joseph C. Cua welcomed the Philippine Airlines (PAL) during the Virac-Clark Inaugural Flight Send-off Ceremony on Monday morning at the Virac Airport which was graced by the Mr. Genaro C. Velasquez, Philippine Airlines-Senior Assistant Vice President of Metro Manila and Luzon Sales along with PAL personnel.


A CANON SALUTE. PAL aircraft is greeted with a water canon salute upon arrival at Virac Airport.

In attendance also were Congressman Cesar V. Sarmiento, Virac Mayor Sammy Laynes, PBM Vincent Villaluna, Provincial Tourism Officer Carmel Bonifacio-Garcia and local media practitioners.

PAL has set to operate direct flights from Clark to Virac thrice a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) using PAL aircrafts: Q300 with 56 seating capacity and Q400 with 76 seating capacity. This is in response to the public demand and with the efforts of the government officials in Catanduanes.


WARM WELCOME. Officials and personnel of PAL are welcomed with a lively dance by Hablon Dawani courtesy of the Provincial Tourism Office.

Provincial Tourism Officer Carmel Bonifacio-Garcia believed that Philippine Airlines’ flights from Clark to Virac and vice-versa opens a big opportunity for Catanduanes given that Clarkis an international hub wherein travelers could avail of direct flights to other countries.

“We could market Catanduanes doon sa mga international or doon sa foreign tourists” she said adding that there is a possibility for the province to have travel exchange or actively participate in the Northern Travel Fair which usually happens every November since Northern Philippines has also marketable and booming tourism like in Pampanga.


PAL IS READY TO SERVE CATANDUNGANONS. Mr. Genaro “Bong” Velasquez personally graces the event to show PAL’s commitment in serving and assisting Catandunganons in travelling in and out of the province.

Now that Catanduanes has an aggressive marketing when it comes to tourism, Provincial Tourism Officer Garcia said that opening of Clark is a big market and would really boost Catanduanes’ tourism industry.


THIS IS FOR CATANDUANES.Gov. Cua conveys message of gratitude for the response of PAL to operate direct flight on the Clark to Virac route for the benefit of the people of Catanduanes as well as the province’s emerging tourism industry.

“We could get a big chunk of tourists, since connecting sila from Clark direkta nasa Virac,” she added.

The management of PAL promised to provide quality and comfortable travel for the people of Catanduanes and for Catanduanes.
