Catanduanes Government

The provincial government has suspended the classes in primary and secondary levels in the entire province due to Tropical Depression Urduja this Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017.

This is to secure the constituents in the province from the possible effects of such adverse weather condition and mitigate unlikely damages to the areas prone to floods and landslides.

At present, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Atmospheric Services Administration (PAG-ASA) raised Tropical Signal No. 1 over Catanduanes.

As of 11 AM today, TD Urduja has slightly intensified and slowed down as it moves in west direction at speed of 7 kph with sustained winds of 60 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

All the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management members, municipal and barangay officials, government employees and other concerned are already advised to undertake the proper disaster preparation protocols.

Everyone is advised to keep updated with the latest weather report and take precautionary measures at all times.
